Highland Creek Dallas, TX Interior Kitchen, Living and Bar Remodel

Our clients have lived in this North Dallas, TX home since it was built in 1987. Their children were all grown, so these active empty nesters saw the perfect chance to finally update their kitchen. They wanted better flow and functionality. He knew he wanted Bentwood cabinets, but she did not know anything about them. Once she saw them, she fell in love! There were so many personal customizations from roll out shelving, pull out utensil drawers, a stand mixer lift, and even hidden doors; anything was possible! She loved the fact that they got to visit the Bentwood factory and see their actual cabinets being painted. The couple also knew that they wanted to ensure that the updates they were making had a designer touch, so Jenifer Wiley, of J Wiley Designs brought her expertise to this project. Our clients added Subzero Wolf Appliances and hid the refrigerator and dishwasher behind matching cabinet panels. Speaking of hidden, the panty access door has a speakeasy function that keeps this kitchen remodel looking and functioning flawlessly.

In addition to gutting their kitchen, we reconfigured a hallway that used to run alongside the kitchen leading from the entry to the den. It was really wasted space, so we closed it off and gave them a hidden walk-in pantry, that also connects to the existing storage closet that is below the stairs. New large floor to ceiling windows were installed in the living room that look out onto their beautiful backyard. The bar area adjacent to the living room also got a complete remodel. A unique custom island was built, and the wall was updated with new cabinets, stone tops and iridescent wall tile. Built-in glass shelves mixed with wine storage complete the look on the feature wall. Hardwood floors were installed in a herringbone pattern, separating the space, and calling attention to it from the rooms on either side of it. It was his perfect space to simply relax, read books or enjoy a glass of wine.

Not only do our clients love this home, but our industry peers also think it is sensational as well. This home won 2 Contractor of the Year awards for 2023. It won best Residential Interior from the North Texas Chapter of the National Association of the Remodeling industry and was the Region 5 winner as well. This home was also a finalist in the Texas Association of Builders Star Awards for 2023.
