Our clients came to us with a vision for a completely reimagined primary suite—an opportunity to start fresh and treat the space as a true blank canvas. The existing bedroom was part of a 2000s addition, and while it provided generous square footage, it lacked the character, functionality, and natural light they desired. The goal was to create a larger, brighter bathroom with increased storage and a more modern sensibility, while still honoring the home’s original charm. From thoughtful architectural details to fully custom millwork, every inch of the redesigned suite was tailored to reflect their lifestyle and aesthetic.
The bathroom features an undermount tub wrapped in luxurious Calacatta Borghini marble, which continues onto the shower bench in a waterfall edge for a seamless, sculptural look. The vanities are topped with the same stone, finished with apron fronts and an ogee edge that adds a classic, elevated touch.
Throughout the suite, custom doors with full radius or eyebrow arches lend a graceful architectural detail. Each door is fitted with reeded glass, adding subtle texture and softening the light between rooms. Since the tub is fully encased in stone, we incorporated discreet access panels behind the back-wall built-ins to allow for easy plumbing access, if needed.
Red oak beams were added as a warm architectural element, tying back to the red oak flooring and creating a sense of cohesion across the space. What was once a primary bath and a single open office has been reimagined into two custom closets—one for each homeowner—and a dedicated office, giving each space definition and purpose.
We also installed three new windows and an exterior door, all designed to match the home’s original architectural character. Built-ins off the primary bedroom feature an inset reeded design, while the office cabinetry showcases a complementary inset fluted detail—both providing texture and visual interest without overwhelming the design.
