I started by graduating with an Honors Degree in Quantity Surveying in London in 1993. I worked my way up ladders and became a Partner at Gleeds, one of the largest international construction consultants. After our son was born, I decided I needed to improve my quality of life by getting out of the “rat race” in London. Hurricane Ivan destroyed most of the infrastructure of the Cayman Islands in 2004 and they needed real-estate professionals to help rebuild. I took a position with a local consultancy firm, back at the bottom of the ladder.
