Seafood Festival
If you enjoy delicious seafood and outdoor fun and entertainment, you will not want to miss the Seafood Festival. It occurs the first week of June on River Street. Vendors from the area line the street with a multitude of foods as well as local vendors and arts and crafts. There is also live music and a fun play area for the kids.
Food Truck Festival
The Food Truck Festival is another great event where you can sample southern flavors and dishes from around the globe. This event occurs during the first week of June in Daffin Park. There are over 50 trucks, so you are sure to find something you will love. In addition to great eats, there is also craft beer, yoga, kids events and even a dog food truck, so bring your furry friend along.
River Street 4th of July Celebration
Another great event on River Street is the 4th of July Celebration. Bring a blanket or a lawn chair. Spread out with the family to watch Savannah’s impressive fireworks show and celebrate our nation’s birthday.
Gourmet Seafood and Spirits Festival
If luxury food is your thing, the Gourmet Seafood and Spirits Festival is the perfect event for you. The event, which takes place over four days in the middle of August, sees famous chefs and mixologists from around the world come to Georgia to share incredible food and drinks. The event includes several meals, among them are the Chef’s Table, Low Country Picnic and Jazz Brunch. One of the highlights is the Aquacurean Challenge in which chefs and restaurants compete and guests get to sample and vote on their favorite foods.
VOICE Festival
The VOICE Festival has something for all music lovers, including opera, musical theater and song. The event lasts throughout the month of August and features over 25 performances. In addition to great music, the program also offers masterclasses and is led by the legendary opera singer, Sherrill Milnes.
Farmers’ Markets
Every Saturday during the summer in town there are two farmer’s markets for you to attend. The Forsyth Farmers’ Market can be found in Forsyth park and offer fresh fruits, vegetables and other local goods. The Wilmington Islands Farmers’ Market takes place at Islands High School. In addition to fresh produce, you can also buy wares from local artisans and catch cooking demonstrations from local chefs. There are also children’s activities like story time and crafts, making the market fun for the whole family.
Paranormal Cirque
For some grownup entertainment, Cirque Italia presents their show “Paranormal Cirque.” Described as part circus, part theatre, part cabaret. The show is geared toward adults and is both frightening and funny. The show runs from June 30 to July 1 at the Coastal Empire Fairgrounds.
