A career in home construction and remodeling can be rewarding, lucrative and challenging (in a good way)!

To inspire and teach young people about opportunities in the field, Alair professionals often donate their time and talents to worthy organizations.

Recently, Dale Contant, Alair Marietta partner, and Peter Michelson, Alair North Georgia regional partner, spent a day with teams of high school students at the annual SkillsUSA Championships. More than 6,500 students came together in Atlanta for a hands-on competition in over 100 trade, technical and leadership fields. The teams worked against the clock and themselves to showcase their expertise in a variety of areas.

Peter and Dale judged first-place state teams as they all built the same small house. The students were judged on safety, quality control, accuracy, teamwork, carpentry skills, roofing, masonry, electrical and plumbing. Each team had already won their own statewide SkillsUSA competition before attending the national event.

Don’t be surprised if some of these “best of the best” end up as Alair professionals in the not-too-distant future.
