Meet Team Alair Marietta

Inspired to build at an early age thanks to his contractor father, Dale is a gem in our industry evidenced by his pristine reputation, 50 years of industry experience, beautiful family, and substantial and impactful charitable endeavors. He has received extensive recognition at the local and national levels for his industry work through his leadership roles with NARI: National Association of the Remodeling Industry, and has earned NARI credentials as Master Certified Remodeler, Certified Remodeling Project Manager and Universal Design Certified Professional. Dale has been honored by Remodeling Magazine’s Big 50 and Top 550 (ten years), Qualified Remodeler Magazine’s Top 500 (sixteen years), and is annually listed in Atlanta Business Chronicle’s Top Residential Remodeler publication. Dale has also contributed his expertise to magazines such as Professional Remodeler, Qualified Remodeler, Remodeling, Atlanta Home Improvement, and East Cobber.

Dale is a firm believer in giving back and has donated his time, talents, and resources over the years to Rebuilding Together Atlanta, where he served on the board, Cure for childhood cancer, and including numerous charitable acts to homeless shelters and our disabled vets. He has called the northwest metro Atlanta area home for 32 years now, has been married for 37 years, and is especially proud of his four daughters, their loving husbands, and his three grandchildren.

Jamie originally hails from Mississippi and joined Alair Homes Marietta, formerly Atlanta Design & Build, in 2001. Having risen through the ranks at the company, he is held in high regard for his carpentry skills, attention to detail and the professional care he gives to each client and their project. In 2019 Jamie transitioned to the office where he now assists in project Estimating and Design. He continues to be a resource to project managers, as well.

Jamie’s earned credentials through NARI certification study and testing include Certified Kitchen and Bath Remodeler (CKBR) and Certified Lead Carpenter (CLC). Prior to working at Alair Homes Marietta, Jamie gained significant commercial construction experience with the NAVY as a member of the Seabees Naval Mobile Construction Battalion. Jamie, his wife and two daughters reside in Marietta, Ga. where his favorite hobby is collecting and repairing antiques including pre-war toy trains, phonographs, roller organs and other intricate devices.

Sydney has worked in construction for over a decade, apprenticing straight out of high school. She earned her Certified Remodeling Project Manager (CRPM) credentials through the National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI) in 2014. From Apprentice to Carpenter, her other job positions held include Project Manager and Production Assistant Manager both involving interaction with clients, subcontractors and supplier partners.

Professional Remodeler magazine recognized Sydney amongst their “40 Under 40” when she was 26. She has participated several years in MAGIC (Mentoring A Girl In Construction) Camps at Gwinnett Technical College as keynote speaker to encourage other young women to consider careers in the industry.

She is the daughter of H. Dale Contant (owner of Alair Homes Marietta) and his wife Keely. Shortly after high school, Dale encouraged Sydney to try her hand at the family business. “I most likely would not have chosen this as my career path, if my father had not given me the opportunity,” said Sydney. “I’m glad I took the offer!”

Sydney and her husband, Caio, have a son and live in Acworth. With her passion for design and creating beauty, Sydney enjoys a variety of artistic pursuits. She recently learned how to work on a manually-operated letterpress built in the early 1900’s to create one-of-a-kind wedding invitations for family and friends.
