Asian-Inspired Craftsman Style Custom Home
Project Description
This Greene & Greene architecturally-inspired custom home designed by Dallas Architect Michael Lyons is thoughtfully perched atop a Texas Hill Country bluff overlooking the Paluxy River Valley in Hood County, TX, just south of Granbury. It is a perfect retreat for a former Dallasite to reconnect with nature, wildlife, star filled nights and his family roots.
The architect on this project created the perfect upscale bachelor pad that blends the classic Craftsman style home with touches of Asian-inspired influences. The striking interior design features include mahogany paneled walls, TruStile doors, and custom millwork and cabinetry that are blended beautifully with the exterior artistry of Arkansas rock, stucco, and heavy wood timbers. Adding to the ambiance, and perfect balance of form and function, are the fully automated Lutron Homeworks lighting and shade controls.
Living in a remote countryside location far away from normal city services like fire, ambulance, natural gas, sewer, water and other conveniences, it was important to incorporate these protections into the project scope. As a result, this custom hill country home was designed with fire sprinklers, lightning protection, back-up power generators, a water well, and propane and aerobic septic systems.
Last, but not least, the Japanese-inspired landscape and gardens were designed and installed by Larry Leone of Copper Mesa Creations rivaling any botanical gardens in the country and taking over three years to fully develop.
