Independence Day Celebration

The city will celebrate 4th of July with a fireworks display, which will take place at Jordan Park. It will begin at 10 p.m. at the northern end of the park. The city will also hold another fireworks display on July 24 at Herman Franks Park, which will also begin at 10:00 p.m.

Downtown Farmers Market

Conveniently located at Pioneer’s Park, the Downtown Farmers Market offers a wide variety of produce from nearly 100 local farmers. You can also find plenty of refreshments there as well as arts and crafts. The market is open from 8:00 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Friday Night Flicks

Those who love movies will love Friday Night Flicks. Taking place at various parks across the city — such as Liberty Park, Lindsey Gardens, Reservoir Park, Riverside Park and Fairmont Park — the movies are free and so is the popcorn. This year’s films include “Wonder Woman,” “The Hitchhiker’s Guide To The Galaxy” and “Galaxy Quest,” and they begin at 9:15 p.m.

Monday Family Nights

July 9, 2018 and August 6, 2018

Monday Family Nights at Red Butte Garden offer a combination of live music and dancing at no cost. This year’s programs include the Mood Swings Band and the Best of Africa. The events run from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Craft Lake City DIY Festival

August 10, 2018 – August 12, 2018

Now in its 10th year, the Craft Lake City DIY Festival features more than 200 artisans, engineers and vendors. There are also music and dance performances, and lots of food. Typically 20,000 visitors attend the festival every year.

Salt Lake County Fair

The Salt Lake County Fair includes a carnival, a petting zoo, pony rides, craft and livestock exhibitions and lots of locally produced food. There is also plenty of entertainment, including rodeos and movies.
