Candy Windows

This unique event is something you should not miss. Stroll down Towne Center Drive to catch a glimpse of these extraordinary Christmas displays made entirely out of candy! These edible displays stay up through the end of December and can be seen in a multitude of shops throughout town. The candy art is attributed to Krista Johansen and Jennifer Vesper.

Temple Square Christmas Lights

Anyone who lives near Temple Square knows just how breathtaking the light displays are. Not only does the Square positively light up with twinkle lights, but there are tons of holiday decorations, and a life size nativity scene that is staged on the lawn in front of the Visitor’s Center. Visitors also get the chance to enjoy handmade paper lanterns with “peace” written on them in many different languages and diverse nativity scenes so that everyone is included. Also included are performances from local bands, choirs, and shows from artists. The 35 acres of Temple Square are packed full of every kind of Christmas display and activity you could possibly want.

The Turtle Shelter Project Holiday Charity Event

If you are looking for ways to give back this season in Salt Lake City, the Turtle Shelter Project has partnered with Design Source SLC to help the community. This local charity event has volunteers assemble and sew hooded vests for homeless Salt Lake City residents. The founder of the NPO suffered from homelessness herself and saw no less than seven of her friends die due to exposure to the elements during Utah’s harsh and unforgiving winters. The winter months are upon us, so now is the time. While they are very grateful for donations of all kinds, what they really need is the donation of time. And do not worry, if you are not able to sew, there are still plenty of things that you can contribute!

Whether you are in the spirit of giving, or feeling merry and bright, there are endless holiday events and activities for people of all ages in Salt Lake City.
