The Alair Homes Greenville Team had the opportunity to serve alongside Rebuild Upstate to help the Upstate community in an uplifting way. Rebuild Upstate is a non-profit organization that preserves homes of low-income families to make them safer, healthier, and more livable in Upstate SC. Alair Homes prides itself on being a company that strives to make a long term difference in the community and people’s lives. Collaborating with Rebuild Upstate provided the chance to live out those values and to create a lasting impact for two families in need.

“One rewarding part of my day was seeing what a team of Alair can accomplish working together in a day. The most rewarding part of the day was seeing the happy faces of the homeowners to see a safe and easier way to enter and exit their home. It appeared that the damaged stairs and loose handrails were a struggle for a very long time. For homeowners who find it challenging to maneuver around safely, a ramp reduces the risk of falling and makes the home safer for years to come. In August of 2020, two Upstate veteran families needed a safer and more accessible entrance for their homes. One ramp was built per home, each unique to the family living inside. One homeowner was an Airforce veteran who served the United States for ten years. The second ramp was for a couple who had been married for 40 years with children who have served in the Navy. 

“Our office is about 4 minutes away from here and my wife actually taught at a school that’s 3 blocks away. It’s extremely important to me to come into these communities and give back.
