Mike Scarlett, founder of Scarlett Signature Homes, has been awarded franchise licensing rights in Frisco, Texas, and will now operate as Alair Frisco. Scarlett is the third partner to join the Alair Dallas-Fort Worth team, led by Regional Partner James Hammel and his wife Lisa, along with Partners Diane and Chad Hatfield of Alair Plano.

A 30-year veteran of the construction industry, Scarlett has built and remodeled high-end homes in his native California, including the exclusive enclaves of La Jolla, Del Mar and Rancho Santa Fe, and across North Texas for more than 17 years. He specializes in custom home building, remodeling, and commercial construction. Completed projects range from kitchen and bath remodels to 9,000-square-foot custom homes, and everything in between. Scarlett has extensive experience in green building including: solar panel installation, geothermal heating and air, and spray-foam insulation.

“Mike is a very personal guy who is extremely empathetic. His goal is to make clients extremely happy; he’s just wired this way. Through his many years in the industry, Mike has learned what makes a project enjoyable or not, and he knows the right way to work with clients as they build or remodel their home. He focuses on the human element of building, which is aligned with Alair’s approach. It is very personal for our clients and often not easy. Mike truly cares about his clients, loves what he does, and he does it well,” Hammel said.

Throughout his extensive career, Scarlett has received numerous awards and recognition. He participated in the first Green Parade of Homes in Texas with seven home builders; each building a home. Mike won first place in seven out of 10 categories, including Best Craftsmanship and Judge’s Favorite Home. In 2010, Mike and his team built a home at the State Fair of Texas in just 30 days, made possible with extensive advanced planning. The 1,200-square-foot craftsman-style home was complete with landscaping, furniture and everything except working plumbing.

“I am thrilled to join the Alair team in the North Texas region and to be part of an innovative company that is so focused on teamwork, partnership, excellence and providing an exceptional client experience,” Scarlett said. “My company was successful, but I had been building for many years without a proven system. Once I learned about Alair and how they go about building, specifically their Client ControlTM system, I knew I had to learn more. This organized management system allows us to run our projects effectively and efficiently. It is exactly what I had been missing all of these years.”

Alair’s unique Client Control™ model combines the best qualities of cost plus and fixed price contracting. The company’s cloud-based proprietary system allows clients transparency to access information about costs, materials selections and subcontractor bids throughout every stage of construction. Clients are in 100 percent control of their project when using this system.

“This system allows our clients to have an even better experience by taking the uncertainty out of building and remodeling. It allows us to be a trusted advisor and keeps all parties on the same page throughout the building process,” Scarlett said.

In addition, Scarlett is a member of the National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI) and a former member of the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB). Dedicated to his community and many causes, Scarlett served for many years as a mentor with Big Brothers Big Sisters of America. He also has served for more than five years on the board of directors of Spirit of a Hero, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing financial, moral, and community support to veterans of the United States armed forces, and currently serves as board president. With a passion for the cause, Scarlett also donated a home remodel to a veteran who had lost both of his legs.

“Alair is particularly selective of the builders chosen to join our team. In order to become part of the Alair team, builders and contractors must already have a thriving business. Mike has more than 17 years of experience building and remodeling homes in the greater Dallas area and an excellent reputation. Further, his commitment and dedication to his community and to his clients makes him an ideal partner as we continue to expand our presence in North Texas,” Hammel added.
