The Crestwood Renovation

The homeowners moved their family down to the Upstate area in order to live, work, and retire in a community with ties back to Clemson. They wanted to renovate their existing home to make it more functional for their family’s lifestyle. They love to entertain on a regular basis so having a house with a large kitchen and living areas was very important.

The Alair Homes Clemson team worked with them from the very beginning to design a set of plans that incorporated bedrooms separate from the main living areas, drop zones for children when they come in, a large island to seat a lot of people in the kitchen, a design that captures the amazing views of the golf course and university, and create a more functional master suite. This finished renovation is spectacular from the moment you walk in. It went from a house full of long, narrow hallways and outdated style, to an open concept home built for entertaining. The kitchen contains high-end Thermador appliances, a 20 ft island with space for ten people to sit, custom cabinets, and sliding doors that allow the space to flow to the outdoor porch. A walk-in pantry and powder bath were included just off the kitchen.

Additionally, a full master suite was added to the front of the house including an office area and exercise room. The concept of designing for entertaining did not end with the interior of the home; it was also a large consideration for the exterior. The house contains several areas created for people to gather at.

This includes a fire pit in the lower front terrace that can be used to cook, a porch extension of the front with a view of Clemson University and a courtyard in the back complete with a custom fireplace and built-in grill area.
