The homeowners’ vision for this outdoor living addition project was to create a covered space with a fully outfitted chefs’ kitchen, al fresco dining, bar and seating for entertaining fifty-plus family, friends, and business colleagues. The primary goal for the new space was to ensure the new addition looked like a natural extension of the current home’s aesthetic. We engaged an architect to design the project to meet our clients’ vision. A certified kitchen designer was also engaged to incorporate all the appliances in the design and create functional cabinet storage solutions for a very discerning client. The designer chose NatureKast exterior grade waterproof cabinets that are made entirely from molded PVC that look like stained wood and are virtually indestructible.
A custom designed outdoor Infratech heating and Jetstream ducted cooling system was installed to extend the seasonal use of the space. A separate pool bath with a shower was incorporated into the design for convenience. Our clients have a passion for the tropics and wanted to incorporate some features like gas tiki torches and other nautical themed accoutrements. The space is fully automated and includes a Lutron lighting control with wi-fi connected audio & video, A/C & Heating systems all controllable remotely with their phones. The finished project far exceeded all our expectations, and the client has hosted several events with family, friends, and colleagues.
Kitchen appliances include a 54” Lynx grill, Lynx Napoli pizza oven, Alfresco power burner, Wolf range top, Wolf Pro Teppan-Yaki griddle, Big Bad Kamado cooker, 2 Scotsman ice makers and a Summit glass front beverage fridge for the bar. Kitchen & Bar plumbing fixtures include Waterstone faucets & Blanco sinks.
The perimeter stone countertops are Peacock Green with a leathered finish, the island counter is Rainforest Green and the backlit bar table is polished Crystallo Quartzite with mitered drop edges. The bar table frame was custom designed and built so electrical wiring could be concealed within the frame for the LED backlighting panels and charging station outlets at each end.
