Contemporary North Dallas

This one-of-a-kind home in the North Haven Place subdivision of Preston Hollow had a single owner from the time it was built in 1974 until our clients purchased it. The new owner was an architect and interior designer, so she could see the potential in this unique home. She didn’t want to lose the integrity of the original design but she did want to update it so that it was functional for their family.

First off, she wanted to open the kitchen and add some more windows for natural light. The next biggest change was to update the master bathroom. It needed a complete overhaul, as it was small with separate his and hers vanities, a small shower, a plain tub, and just nothing fancy about it. They installed beautiful floating cabinets with bright stainless faucets, a large steam shower, and a spa tub. It was definitely a place that she could retreat to now, after a long day at work. The other bedrooms upstairs were reconfigured, giving them the ability to add a fourth bedroom. The kid’s bathroom upstairs, as well as the powder bath downstairs and the laundry room, were all updated while maintaining the uniqueness of the original home. The best part of the story is that the original owner had unique pieces of art from all over the world that the new owners were able to keep, therefore preserving the memory and distinctiveness of the original home.
