Alair Buckhead's team consists of 200 years of collective experience. That experience ranges from architect to carpenter, from building science consultant to accountant, and from student to professor. As your project moves from concept to reality, you will discover the commonality that pulled this group together. It is a deep desire to design and build amazing buildings with a positive customer experience rooted in complete transparency, constant communication, and a consultative approach that offers understanding and peace of mind.

Frank Wickstead

Partner

Frank’s 30+ years of experience ranges from Architect to General Contractor to building science consultant to College Professor. With degrees in Architecture and Building Construction, he considers himself a constant student and teacher of an industry that is constantly evolving.

At Alair Buckhead, Frank continues to define a company culture of industry expertise, tight processes, and the development of a world-class product. That balanced with the importance of open and constant communication, making it fun, and the acknowledgement that it is never just a project, it is someone’s dream coming to fruition.

Frank and his wife, Lauren, share a passion for food, travel, music, theatre, and life in general. There is always conversation about the next adventure. They share two sons that are a wonderful distraction along the way.
Peter Michelson

Peter Michelson

Regional Partner

Building, Business, and building a business are in Peter’s blood. As a 4th generation construction professional, Peter grew up in the family construction business in the Boston area, and after graduating from the University of Michigan, he worked as a carpenter for various remodeling companies in San Francisco and the Hudson Valley region.

Since 2001, Peter and his team have completed hundreds of home remodeling projects, earned more than 60 awards for design, artisanship, and customer service, and consistently ranked top 5 in the annual Atlanta Business Chronicle. In 2018, Peter became an Alair Regional Partner for Metro Atlanta.

As Regional Partner, Peter supports all of Alair’s regional offices. He leads regular trainings sessions for the Project Managers and Partners. Peter continues to develop strategic alliances between Alair and leaders in the design world, top suppliers, and trades within the industry. This ensures that Alair Buckhead’s network is extensive, with the ability to attract Atlanta’s best architects, designers, trades, and vendors towards your project.
 David Michelson

David Michelson

Regional Partner

David, a fourth-generation construction professional, grew up in Boston's family construction business. After earning a BA in Psychology from Syracuse University, he worked as a Project Manager for four years at the Ben A. Borenstein Company, overseeing commercial projects across Chicago, Metro Baltimore, Denver, and Southern California. Returning to Boston in 1989 with his wife, Toby, he contributed his expertise to the family construction business for 15 years, tackling diverse projects from historic libraries to hospitals.

In 2004, David relocated to Atlanta, partnering with his brother, Peter, in Renewal Design-Build. Alongside his career, he actively engages in community service as an executive board member of Atlanta NARI and NARI National. During his leisure, he enjoys biking, golfing, supporting his cherished teams, the Red Sox, Patriots, and Celtics, and taking walks with his dog, Bucky.
Annie Martinsen

Annie Martinsen

Director of Operations

Annie’s 25+ years' experience managing companies in the design and construction industry ranges from architecture to interior design to furniture manufacturing and to construction firms. Annie understands the business like few others do.

She has great relationships with clients, vendors, and subcontractors alike. When times are tough, her smile is infectious and can solve most problems on its own. As you will quickly discover, Annie is meticulously detail-oriented and loves to see projects from their infancy through completion.

Annie is mother to three, an avid soccer fan, loves to read, explore Piedmont Park and The Beltline. In her spare time, Annie is a gifted napper.
David  Vasquez

David Vasquez

Director of Production

Starting in childhood, David was intrigued by construction. David engaged in construction as a career early on, he intended to learn the business from the ground up. David started building homes in his 20s and, as time went by, it became a passion. He is always in pursuit of the next technological breakthrough and the best new processes for delivery.

David’s number one goal is client satisfaction. He understands that it is not another project from the client’s point of view, it is their home that needs to be respected. For this reason, he focuses on better building practices and building innovations, so his clients experience efficiency and performance.
David’s construction experience in the Atlanta market spans over 25 years. He is constantly refining his network of subcontractors to provide the best craftsman for the job. He requires that all his subcontractors be client-focused and that they strive to make the construction process as smooth as possible.

David is family focused and loves spending time with his wife, daughter, and friends when he is not in the field. David and his family share a passion for travel.
Rene Heredia

Rene Heredia

Project Manager, Construction

Rene is a construction professional with 20+ years of experience in the field. He started his journey in carpentry at the age of 11 years old when his father used to teach him how to build furniture. He has worked on a wide variety of projects and has gained expertise in every phase of the construction process.

Rene is passionate about building and creating something beautiful from nothing. He takes extraordinary pride in his work and is known for his incredible attention to detail and his ability to produce high-quality work. He is also an incredibly positive and funny guy who is loved by subcontractors and clients alike.

In his free time, Rene enjoys hiking, camping, and spending time with his family.
Lisa Waltuck

Lisa Waltuck

Project Manager, Planning

While Lisa, with a BS in Construction Management, is the junior member on the team with 5 years in the industry, she is an invaluable colleague who serves as the client’s point of contact from Planning through Construction.

She started as a Construction Management intern for Alair Buckhead in the Summer of 2018. Lisa worked as an assistant Project Manager for two and a half years before taking on more of a leadership role. While Lisa has experience with on-site management but shines as the organizational lynchpin as your new home or business comes to life.

Lisa really enjoys the design-build process and watching her clients go from an understanding of the plans until their jaw drops the first time they walk through the finished product.
